An anyone recommend to me a good, easily tolerable( taste and texture ) unflavored protien powder that I can add to things like Soups and yogurts to increase my intake? There are so many, but they are so expensive and I'm afraid to spend the money and I will hate it!

Designer whey - Natural flavor from Vitamin Shoppe is pretty flavorless.

Keep in mind, even the flavorless ones are a powder and that in it's self will change the flavor of your yogurt or Soup to some degree. You just have to mix it really well too and I wouldn't use more than a couple spoonfuls. (I tried a whole scoop in some mashed potatoes...tasted fine but had weird texture.

I used the unflavored Unjury powder. Mixed in anything that has its own flavor, I found it to not alter flavors much at all. I also like the chicken broth flavored Unjury powder...particularly when mixed in canned chicken broth.

I use the Musashi product that's in my profile picture. It has the most good Vitamins & minerals & the least dairy. I was slightly lactose intolerant prior to surgery now 4 months on I'm MASSIVELY lactose intolerant!! It also tastes really nice to!

I just tried Unjury unflavored Protein Powder and I was really surprised at how really "unflavored" it is.

Thank you all for your help. Will research where to get the Unjury as it seems to have gotten the majority of votes!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
