So, I'm almost 12 weeks post-op, and I'm noticing that my hair color is changing. I've been about 80% grey for several years (yeah...I'm not old enough to be that grey....tell me something I DON'T already know..LOL), and my grey hair is now turning light brown!! WTF??? LOL

I know many people have commented that the hair that regrown, after hair-loss, has been different colors, different textures, curly instead of straight, etc....but, this isn't regrowth! This is long hair....that's been in my head a long while!

Has anyone else noticed this??

Laura

I don't know....I really liked the silver, and spent a lot of money, for a lot of years, coloring the light brown! LOL We'll see how it ends up!

If that is a side effect of the sleeve surgery, I want two surgeries! I turned gray when I was 21. It would be wonderful to be an awesome auburn again!

Either way, it's all good. I just want off my meds. If I get a bonus hair color change in the process, I won't complain!!! :D

I too was expecting another poop thread :)

I wonder if it's not just the typical hariloss and you are losing MORE of the grey hair making the brown hair look more prominant? Can you actually see strands that are changing color?

Ya'll are a mess...."poop thread" indeed! LOL

I can't see hairs that are multi-colored (as in the process of changing)....its like the grey is just fading. Its the weirdest thing! I haven't lost much hair (yet), so I don't think that's what's happening...besides, I didn't have enough brown hair left. LOL

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
