mrsjones075 40 Posted October 30, 2012 That is one of my ultimate goals. I want to run! I'm only a week post-op. As soon as I'm cleared to exercise, I am going to do C25K. I've started it a few times in the past, but was too overweight & out of shape to do it. 1 tsmyle reacted to this
OneManWolfpack 180 Posted October 30, 2012 Wow, great to hear such accomplishments! I had never heard of the C25K app but after reading this thread I just downloaded it. Running any kind of distance has always seemed like a pipe dream to me, but I'm motivated to give it a try. I'm less than a week post-op right now but since I'm just now starting walking again, this may be a great time to slowly incorporate this program into the routine. Thanks everyone and keep up the great work!
MaryDrew 41 Posted November 1, 2012 I'm pre-op and have about a month to go. I would love to get some endurance up and am going to just put one foot in front of the other. I am 300 lbs and get out of breath really easy---just going up the stairs in my house will do it---so I don't expect to be able to do much but anything is better than not doing it. Right? delta_girl 931 Posted November 1, 2012 I did Day 1 of C25k yesterday and it felt like I was jiggling all over the place. I was actually very surprised that I could run for 60 seconds at a time, though I was really slow. My form is probably bad and I probably looked like a carp in the throes of death. I was really just testing it out because I planned on trying to get down another 20lbs before even trying. However, it was very doable and I plan on moving forward with it. Best part about it was that it really was fun! 1 Butterthebean reacted to this
cherrybombknits 184 Posted November 4, 2012 I'm doing c25k and will probably be on week one for a bit. I have a goal of doing an actual 5k in early February. They have a ton of themed runs in my area and they look really fun.
