Looks like I'm going to be asking a million questions but this is it for the night. About how long did you stay on the pain meds at home. They have me. Roxicet I took it 1 x last night and 1 x today. How much longer

Just take it as you feel pain. I take it 1-3 times a day. I was sleeved 9/4.

I only took pain meds in the hospital. Didn't take them when I got home. If I needed something, I took Tylenol.

Yep, this is where I am so far. 2nd day at home and I haven't taken any pain meds. I hated the morphine in the hospital and was so grateful when they switched to Toradol. My script is for hydrocodone which has made me loopy and sick before so I probably won't bother. I tend to have a high tolerance for pain though.

That brings up a question. What kind of Tylenol can we sleevers take? liquid? Where do we get that? Is it just kids Tylenol but use the adult dosage?

tylenol pills are okay to take. I took extra strength tylenol when I was in pain or discomfort.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
