lisa.mccroskey@yahoo.com 1 Posted September 8, 2012 Hey friends can you tell me what should I pack for my hospital stay and what are the things that I most definitely need to get home? My surgery is Wednesday so any help you can give would be great

raerae39 8 Posted September 8, 2012 You will have an IV while you are there, so plan to enjoy rocking a hospital gown. Take two or three pairs of pannies, maybe a robe, and a comfy outfit to wear home. I took basic toiletries like toothbrush, toothpaste, deo., lotion, Chapstick, Shampoo and conditioner and a brush. If your hair is long, then a ponytail holder. Take books or a tablet, most hospitals have wifi, cell phone and don't forget chargers. Also, some slip on shoes are great and some socks. Good luck! I was sleeved on August 28th and have lost a total of 22 pounds, 10 from five day preop. I am so happy I did the sleeve! ZERO regrets other than should have done it sooner! I only spent two nights in the hospital and was up walking the afternoon of surgery. 2 IrishEyes and Spirit Fire reacted to this
jd13 25 Posted September 8, 2012 Dont forget a pillow for the ride home. hold pillow against stomach when going over the bumps in the road! 1 Belinda reacted to this
susanfaye 162 Posted September 8, 2012 I took a change of clothes, cell phone, charger, toothbrush, and tooth paste. I only took the phone so I could talk to my kids. I mostly slept so I didn't need anything else. I didn't even watch TV.
ready4change77 88 Posted September 8, 2012 Thanks for all the great info... Did you experience any nausea?? Sent from my iPhone using VST
susanfaye 162 Posted September 8, 2012 Oh yeah, I live 8 miles from the hospital so my hubby could easliy bring anything I needed.
amykins 202 Posted September 8, 2012 I had nausea the first two nights. They put some meds in my IV to help.
Spirit Fire 115 Posted September 8, 2012 Having chapstick and hand lotion was crucial for me. For some reason I was dry and dehydrated, so I agree with all the other posters yet want to emphasize the sanity-saving packing hint of CHAPSTICK. 1 choppers1210 reacted to this
