cissy 0 Posted September 20, 2006 I haven't been around in a few months, but I wanted to give you all an update. After battling with PCOS and obesity, I just recently found out that I'm finally pregnant. :preggers: This is child #2... 12, yes TWELVE years apart (same daddy). piercedqt78 658 Posted September 21, 2006 congrats....a baby is such a joy to have in the house. I love the way babies smell, new, fresh and clean. I have a 5 year old and somedays I miss the quiet moments of the wee hours, just the two of us. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade her for all the babies in the OB ward, but I miss the sweet smelling snuggles that you have to look forward too. ~Mandy

NancyRN 1 Posted September 21, 2006 Christi, I'm so thrilled for you! My kids are 17 years apart, but not because of PCOS. Same daddy, too -- he was dead set against a second until I dealt with my emotional problems (post-partum depression that turned into chronic severe depression). I did and changed my part of our relationship -- and he agreed to having a second!! I had her at age 47, with no reproductive techniques -- she just couldn't wait any longer! I too remember how wonderful babies smell and feel and the joy they feel and share. And now you have one coming...what a gift.

almostready76 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Congrats Christi!!! I also have PCOS and was only able to get pregnant at under 200 lbs. At what point in your weightloss did your cycle go back to normal? How much have you lost? Hubby and I would love to have another baby when the time is right (we have 2 girls 8 and 10 years old). Anyway, a big congratulations on this special occasion!!!! cissy 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Congrats Christi!!!I also have PCOS and was only able to get pregnant at under 200 lbs. At what point in your weightloss did your cycle go back to normal? How much have you lost? Hubby and I would love to have another baby when the time is right (we have 2 girls 8 and 10 years old). Anyway, a big congratulations on this special occasion!!!! It was pure luck for me. I continued to take birth control pills because I wanted to lose a significant amount of weight before trying to get pregnant (lost 52 lbs total but gained back about 8-- the 52lb weight loss put me at 194). I stopped the pill in mid-July, got my period in July right after stopping the pill, and then got my period again in August (I would assume my cycle regulated itself by then- 28 days). I looked up one of those online ovulation calendars and it said I should ovulate between Aug 28 & Sept 2, so DH & I did the deed every single day that week. The rest, as they say, is history. I had a feeling that I was already pregnant around Sept 11, but my period was still a few days away. So I waited until I was 2 days late to take a home pregnancy test. Came out positive with a faint line. Took test again the next day- positive with a dark line. Went to my gyno on the 19th (Tuesday) and she confirmed the pregnancy. My first OB visit isn't until Nov 1 when I'm right around 11 weeks.
