Guest pipsi3 Posted June 23, 2004 Hi, I'm getting ready to have lap band surgery in Monterrey, Mexico with Dr. Rembaut. Has anyone else done this there? I'm a little concerned about post surgical pain. I'll be alone there and am wondering how the pain level is after surgery. How long realistically before I'd be able to fly home. Also, has anyone any suggestions of where to stay while there? Thanks
Penni60 45 Posted June 23, 2004 Pipsi3: I had surgery in Mexico, but not in Monterrey and not with this doctor. I had surgery at Sanoviv Medical Institute with Dr. Lopez as my surgeon. I know there are people on here that have had surgery with Dr. Rumbault and in Monterrey. I am sure they will respond to your questions. Good Luck on the surgery. You will be glad you had it done. I know I was and am THRILLED to have mine done.
bushbaby 8 Posted June 23, 2004 Hi I had surgery there just on the 13th of this month with Dr. Rodriguez. I loved it. It is a very American City. You would not know the difference except for the language. All of the hotel chains are there. I stayed at the Hilton Gardens. Very nice but the beds were not comphy. Or maybe it was me. I was up and walking the next day and had no problem flying out on wednesday after having surgery on Monday. I also only took pain meds for one day. My mom says I have a high tolorance for pain so I don't want to misslead you. I hope everything goes well for you good luck on your journey. Rica
GeezerSue 7 Posted June 23, 2004 Rumbaut has all of his patients stay at the Hampton Inn. Makes transportation to and from airport and hospital much easier. I had surgery on a Tuesday, root canal on Thursday and Friday and flew home Friday.
sheeanisland 0 Posted July 2, 2004 I am also all scheduled for surgery with Dr. Rumbaut I am going on September 7th surgery on the 8th and back on the 10th. I would love to keep in touch and you can let me know how you did. Yeah all of his patients stay at the Hampton Inn. When is your surgery?
hagerteresa 3 Posted July 2, 2004 I had mine with Dr. Lopez in Tijuana. The pain wasn't too bad. Definitely plan on being down the day after but otherwise it gets better from there on out. Take slip on shoes. That way you don't have to bend over. That is the worst thing to have to do for a couple of weeks. Teresa
