Nutella

Recommended Posts

I have been eating Nutella for about a month. I can't say that it is for the Protein and actually I feel guilty when I do eat it. I am almost to my year mark (11-14-11) and I waited until now to eat it. I think, like Peanut Butter, I will continue to eat it in moderation. It does have some protein in it but the carbs and sugar out weigh it, I'm sure.

I've put a little nutela on some of the nastier Protein Bars I bought pre-op and eaten them as a treat. Heat up the bar first and it's like having dessert. I don't know that nutella is good or bad, but it sure made those icky Protein bars easier to eat, even with only a small teaspoon spread on them. :)

i am not sleeved, yet, but i would say that out of all the "bad" things that you could eat, at least nutella has some nutritional value.. so you could feel less guilty about eating it. i'm not sure what the Protein in it is, but at least it has some.. unlike cake.. or pie.. or a snicker's bar... or something like that. lol :)

it would be awesome if it were a Protein source.. LOL i'd be like living in the factory.. lol :)

I am thinking if I put a little in a Protein drink that it would be okay?

Have you tried PB2 in your shakes? Just a healthier option with 45 calories and 5 grams of Protein. It really helps the taste! I think it would be ok to use the Nutella but not the full serving!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
