AliveAgain 283 Posted September 7, 2012 Curious if any women had ovarian cystectomy surgery, before or after VSG? My OB/GYN is telling me it's time to remove a large cyst that has been on my right ovary for almost a year. We hoped weight loss would have helped, and it appeared to be getting smaller for a while. Now it's bigger than ever and I'm having some symptoms from it. I'm afriad of being cut open again and what could happen to my weight loss progress. Can anyone tell me what they know about it? Crystal Woods 193 Posted September 7, 2012 I have had 2 surgeries to remove cysts from my ovaries. Luckily it was several years ago and before my VSG. My surgery was laparoscopic and it was not a bad recovery.
Ready4success 380 Posted September 7, 2012 I had bilateral ovarian cystectomies in May of this year. It was robotic, and I had literally no pain. One cyst was the size of a softball, and the other was the size of a football. It delayed my VSG a little, but I was sleeved earlier this month.

AliveAgain 283 Posted September 8, 2012 Thanks everyone! How soon after did you feel you could: Go back to work? Start working out again at the gym (lifting things)? Travel or fly in a plane, sitting for hours at a time and carrying bags?
NewLifeAhead 0 Posted September 8, 2012 I had two massive cysts removed 5 weeks before my vsg. Mine was an emergency surgery! I healed amazingly well!
