Just Got My Date!

Recommended Posts

My date is Sept. 24th. I am glad that my Dr. had a cancellation and I was able to get it. I have my NUT class on 9/10 and start my 2 week pre-op. I am excited, anxious and scared all at the same time. Anyone have advise as far as pre-op diet (good foods, bad foods)?

Yay! That means you start your 2 week pre-op in less than a week! Woo, it's gonna fly by. I would follow the pre-op diet your doctor recommended. If he didn't give you one, I'd eat less carbs, a little less calories, and make sure you're getting in your water/some exercise. Losing a few pounds before surgery will help decrease your risks, even if it's just a little.

I meet with the nutrition specialist on 9/10 and get my pre-op diet plan and food then. I was hoping that someone that has been thru this recently could tell me good or bad foods. I have heard that the chicken Soup is pretty good along with the Jello

Jakat, I ate A LOT of the oatmeal and pancakes. Those were about the only things that tasted decent. I could also tolerate the eggs, chicken with noodles and Jello. Definitely choose the crispy Protein Bars over the creamy ones. I mean, none of it is going to be great but you will survive.
