8 Months Out..why Do I Keep...

Recommended Posts

falling off the wagon?

I am 8 months out today and I feel like I am not doing as well as others... I am down 84 Pounds and have another 33 Togo.

My problem is .......MUNCHING.. SNACKING... When I do sit down to eat a meal I do good, then when I start to snack I never really stop until I feel almost ill. It's all a mental game that I feel I'm losing... Excercise has been ZERO.... I'm just in a rut!

I needed to vent... Thanks for the support.

SicCHI,

84 pounds is outstanding! Congratulations on your weightloss so far. I will be sleeved on Monday! (can't wait). It sounds like you may know what could be stalling you with the munching but isn't that what you are going to do but just with healthy food since your stomach is so much smaller... I am just wondering. Don't be down on yourself because you have don't awesome just stop the munching and if you do just eat foods that won't make you fall off the wagon.

Best of luck to you

SicChl

you are doing great, you are going at your rate which is terrific

since you are a "veteran" you know that we are NEVER supposed to compare to others - ie how much or how long it has take to loose X amount of weight. People have been shot for less ;)

as far as munching and stuff, not stopping, -btw my NUT/dr always jokingly tell me to eat til i'm full, then stop 2 bites earlier :D

in the movie Moonstruck starring Cher and Nicholas Cage - NC tells Cher - he loves her - she slaps him and says "SNAP OUT OF IT"

so girlfriend thats what i'm telling youj - snap out of it!!! LOL - you are in that rut, its great to vent to anyone that will listen - me extending and raising my hand to you :)

i hope you don't mind me joking around alittle - laughter is ok, right?

did you know it takes more wasted energy to be upset than happy??

but...on the flip side - ALL of us need to vent, and mmmmany of us fall off that wagon that tilts sometimes. Include me with the other tilters :(

Ok, seriously now - don't worry about others with there weight loss, if after 8 months you lost 50 lbs, that would mean you weigh 50 lbs less than you did 8 months ago - BUT, you are down 84 lbs - head high - you can complain, especially being upset over the few munches and stuff, but you know what to do and what not to do to improve yourself

I (we) all on the sleever board have confidence in you - as well as each other - get better, feel better - you'll be back on track sooner than later

good luck

;)

hmmmm, can i get arrested for once again writing a mouthfull - if that were true - i'd be serving a life sentence - no chance of parole :(

ok - here i go - push send

Perhaps some therapy would help you with your compulsive snacking? There certainly couldn't be any harm in it.

I wish you the best of luck!

I'm with you. I'm stalled at almost 13 months and 18 lbs within goal. I've been stalled for a couple months now. I've figured out a couple truths:

1. If you eat too many "mini" candy bars, they will eventually add up to a full-size candy bar - and that is NOT GOOD. If you are going to eat something like that, be true to yourself and track the heck out of it on your nutrition tracker. If I go over by 100 cals in a day, I look over my food log and figure out where that 100 cals came from - it's almost always a snack food of some sort.

2. Avoid your "danger/trigger" foods. I can't keep potato chips in the house. Tortilla chips are OK - I can count those out and have one serving with my salsa (and log it). I'll keep dipping into that potato chip bag, though, so I don't allow them. If my daughter wants chips, she gets a snack-size bag from the convenience store and that's it.

3. Don't stop exercising! I am stalled at between 167 and 170 lbs, and have been for months. When did I stall? When my exercise stalled. I'm still staying right around 1200 calories a day, but apparently my body likes that amount of calories so I know that unless I get back to the gym, I'm likely going to stay here.

4. I don't do this, but it's always a good idea to have lots of healthy snack food prepared and ready-to-eat. Make sure your fruits/veggies are already washed and cut up, and ready to grab on a middle shelf of the fridge (right in your eyeline) - that way instead of reaching for something crappy, you are more likely to grab those items.

I will be 8 months out on Sep. 11th and I'm pretty proud of my weight loss and goal is actually in sight. I've lost around what you have. It's getting harder and I stall more often and for longer periods, but the scale still goes down eventually.

Good that you know what your problems are. GET THE JUNK food OUT OF THE HOUSE! If you get head hungry, drink a huge glass of Water and go for a walk, bike ride, swim, hike, throw a frizbee - what ever you like. Go shopping if that's your thing.

Like Indymom said. Prepare healthy snack foods and always portion things out. NEVER eat out of the container. Cut up veggies dipped in hummus or a Greek yogurt dip? A small handful of nuts and dried berries? A piece of fruit with an oz. of cheese?

Hey look! I'm one pound from being "overweight" as opposed to "obese!"

I actually find that the more I am busy or exercising (I went kayaking last weekend) the less I feel light eating. Snacking comes from boredom.

Hey look! I'm one more pound from being "overweight!" YAY!

I wonder if losing a bit slower might prevent Hair loss and minimize skin issues? As long as it stays off for the most part, it has to be better than anything else we've ever done right.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
