Okay, here goes. My fb group has been tremendous support. I want to hear from others who are a ways out! I have lost 35 pounds since Aug 1 and I am going on a 3 week stall! How much longer will this last? I have been drinking lots of fluid..taking vitamins...getting my protien in! Any suggestions...any hope?

Thanks!

I am 5 weeks out almost and spent the last two in a stall. I didn't go to the gym for 3 days and forced myself to eat more calories and the stall just broke yesterday. It is very frustrating. Good luck to you!

There's a link in my sig to a good article that explains your 3 week stall and why it's happening. The 3 week stall is about glycogen and Water being restored back into your muscles after your initial weight loss. You're still losing fat, but you're storing water and that makes the scale freeze. Keeping your measurements will show that you are still making progress. Keep doing what's you're doing and the scale will soon start moving again.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
