Help With Lactaid And Splenda.

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me if it's ok to have lactaid during the liquid diet? I don't know if I'm lactose intolerant yet. I absolutely love milk and just need that taste. I looked at the ingredients and even the low-fat versions have sugar. Is this ok? Also I'm southern and need my sweet tea, or at least something to cure that craving. I bought Decaf tea and splenda crystals to sweeten it. Is this ok as well? I have asked a lot of questions this past week. I'm just trying to use any resource I can get to be successful.

Go to your local health food store and buy a bottle of stevia extract drops. Use these to sweeten your tea. It has a funky side flavor to it but just like the artificial junk, you will get use to it. But seriously just add it a couple drops at a time. Stevia extract is like 100x sweeter than sugar, it really doesn't take much.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
