jusstice 103 Posted September 5, 2012 Included in my surgeon's list were: Extensive bloodwork, Glucose Challenge, EKG, Abdominal Ultrasound, sleep Study, and Endoscopy. Coupled with the insurance companies requirements, it's like a full time job trying to keep track of what I have to do next. 1 AJPeezy reacted to this
steelerchicksleever 4 Posted September 5, 2012 I'm at the beginning : had the seminar and initial consult. Now I must have a sonogram of my liver/gallbladder on Monday, two nutrition visits, four PCP visits, a psych eval, cardiac clearance (my cardiologist referred me, and I have pulmonary hypertension, so I require extra monitoring), and pre-op testing (which will include a vena cava filter placements). 1 AJPeezy reacted to this
joyful noise 101 Posted September 6, 2012 I attended the introductory meeting all about WLS. I then attended 2 support meetings. Went to nut classes, had my psych evaluation, got my clearance from my PCP. Got an approval, then met with surgeon, got clearances from Nephrologist, today got my clearance from the Pulmonary Dr. and on the 17th, I go for my stress test, for clearance. I did have my blood work done - no H Pylori, a chest x-ray and an EKG. I think they will again do blood work before the surgery. When I get the last clearance, I will meet again with surgeon to set date, have to attend a 3 hour class (what it is, I have no idea) and hopefully that is it until after the surgery. Lots to do... My surgeon doesn't require the 6 month diet, so the process has been very quick.
FDclerical 318 Posted September 6, 2012 My surgeon doesn't require weight loss. My insurance makes u do the 6 months nut visits to make sure u can at least lose or maintain the weight
