So as a complete n00b I walked into my local GNC...first time since high school which was 20 years ago...and bought what I was told was a "very clean" Protein. I purchased 16 Isopure bottles with an assortment of flavors.

***These are the nastiest tasting drinks I have ever tasted.***

The aftertaste leaves you wishing death on the makers of Isopure. Sure, 40 grams of Protein and zero carbs sound good….but it sure doesn’t taste good.

Anyone know if you can take unopened product back to GNC?

yes, you should be able to return the unopened product to the store. Any chance you still have your receipt? They'd appreciate that. It's funny because I don't find them that disagreeable. only the apple melon and passion fruit. the others I find quite tolerable (at least pre-op). Sorry you had a bad experience. I do believe that Isopure puts out an unflavored powder that you can add to just about anything. Ask your GNC rep for a good alternative. :)

You might try diluting it with Water. I know, means more liquid! Or adding crystal light powder to the container. It makes it a bit more palatable.

I tried all the flavors and Grape Frost is the only one I can tolerate. I like it actually.

I have tried the grape frost, the banana pineapple & the apple melon & I liked all of them.

It's funny how subjective taste can be. I really haven't found a Protein drink or bar so objectionable that I couldn't finish it, but some are definitely much better than others. Muscle Milk being the prime disgusting example I can think of.

Nice thing about the Isopure Carb Free is you can mix it with Crystal Light and drink it over the course of the day. A nice break from the thicker chocolate and vanilla Proteins.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
