So.. Yeah, crackers. They're on my mushy food list, it they don't have seeds, which is nice. I crave something I can actually chew w/crunch! I'm not a mushy food texture kinda person. I'm over refried Beans, Soups, potatoes, oatmeal, yogurt, cheese.. So I've discovered I can eat cracker (4 or 5) w/tuna salad, cheeses, sausages.. I'm not sure if the carbs are just a slider food for me.. or if I just love that I can crunch something, tho. Any experience, strength, or hope on this? Any suggestions! I was sleeved Aug. 1.

I bought some lentil crackers and ate them (chewing them silly) during my mushy period. Someone said they have less ruffage than whole wheat but I liked them and they added some Protein. I also got some of Annie's very cheesy rabbit-shaped cheese wheat crackers (think goldfish crackers health-food style). Now I am on fairly normal foods and am eating some whole wheat crackers with things like tunafish or cheese (or both). Saving some whole wheat with pumpkin seeds for when eating seeds and nuts are okay.

They really satisfied that need to crunch. Tasty, too.

As long as you keep the quntity low they are fine and will help ease a sour stomach too.

My favorite thing to eat has become saltines and cheddar cheese cubes... I can only eat a few before I'm full but I LOVE the taste...

Has anyone tried Gerber lil' crunchies? I heard they has mild cheddar puffs that taste just like cheese doodles! I really want to try them!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
