When does the stall happen??? I have been on liquids since August 1st and dropping weight like crazy. This last week the scale is not really moving? Is it too early for a stall??? What can I do to jump start. I am not cheating at all period.!!!

I don't think there is an exact stall date for people. Generally it happens first between 3-5 weeks. I had one in my second week. I had a second in week 6. I wouldn't worry about jump starting anything- instead you should temper your expectations. If you go a month without losing any weight and see no changes is measurements or clothing sizes, then you may want to talk to your doc or nut.

And stop weighing yourself every day. That will only drive you crazy. Two pounds a week is great progress for normal weight loss, so you are probably way ahead of the game right now.

I did not experience the 2 week stall that many do - some weeks the weight seems to come off a bit faster than others - right after my 100 day checkup I seem to have stalled a bit - I honestly am surprised it hasnt happened sooner, our bodies are changing so rapidly that it seems that it would be normal.

My stall started week 3 and lasted for two weeks. Because I kind of expected this to happen, I didn't let it bother me too much. I mean, I was eating 5000 calories a week, I was bound to be losing weight. :) I know my body was wondering what the heck I was doing to it!!

I will be having my surgery in less than a week. I have a question about stalls. When you get in a stalling period, do you need to do something different or keep doing the same thing. I have heard of people trying to jump start their diet in some way but do you do this in a stall after VSG?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
