Stuck At 155!

Recommended Posts

So I had the band for over two years and had to convert to the sleeve but I haven't been able to lose more weight. My presurgery weight was 243 and I've been 155for a year. I don't know what to do to lose more weight. I do Protein Shakes in the morning, a string cheese/almonds for snack, 1/4c of food for lunch and again for dinner, i eat healthy and small portions. Any help or suggestions???

Sorry, can you help us with a timeline? Your lapband presurgery weight was 243 and with it you dropped to 155 or your sleeve surgery weight was 243? When was your sleeve surgery?

What is your exercise routine like?

Do you track your food on MyFitnessPal or the like?

I was 243 before the band which I got in nov2009 and the revision in feb2012. I don't track my food, I honestly don't have time, I'm a 1st grade teacher with my own little ones at home, I don't have a set excercise schedule right now because I'm so busy and drained. I'm on my feet all day and busy taking care of my girls when I'm home. I know i need to excercise more but I don't have energy for it,

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
