Went for my one month follow up and I'm down 31lbs...so excited. However, my MD released me from purees and set me free onto a "normal"diet. Thing is, I'm scared shirtless to eat now...so used to eat the things I've been working on. Anyone else feel like this?

I'm in the same boat but no raw veggies or red meat for 2 more months at least. New foods are hard on me right now. Sticking with what I know and relying a lot on my Protein Drinks.< /p>

It amazes me how different doctors have their own timeliness.when I get to pudding consistency next week its gonna be for 6 weeks. At least there are plenty more options but geeze that's a long time compared to other times I have read on here..

I discussed with my doc that I am afraid to move from the full liquid stage and as such I'm almost a week behind my goal calendar. He agreed with me that given my difficulties (complications) there is no need to rush.

You might want to ease in with a mechanical mushy stage which would be where I would be at your stage. If that sounds interesting I'll tell you more detail but basically it's things like wet ground beef (spaghetti sauce is the wet part) small curd cottage cheese, all Soups, casserole dishes without bread, soft etc.

One month check up tomorrow. Kinda nervous to see total weight loss. I know I have been at astallmfor the past 5 days. I think the stall has been the hardest part. My mental mind really wants Cookies and cheeseburgers!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
