I did it. I finally joined the gym at my job. Can't figure out why this make me giddy  , but it does.

I am truly looking forward to starting a program and sticking with it. The center is staffed from 6:30a - 7:30p but members access it 24/7. I'm ready now, it's on!!! I see ONE(derland) coming soon. Ok, why am I THIS EXCITED!! Is it the sleeve? Alright, I'll take that. B):D

Now, can I get some advice on what I should be doing before / after workouts? What to wear...yes this is a serious question on my part because I don't know if I should wear something special because of being Sleeved.

:D Thank you my fellow Sleevers.

Congratulations! One step closer to healthy! I don't wear anything special except a girdle. I'm just 5 weeks out and still have incision pain and that helps. I usually wear basketball shorts (I may be addicted to Nike) and a loose tshirt. Good shoes are a must. I wear asics now but also love Nike and Addidas runners. Nike shoes can be linked to your ipod to track your progress. That will be my next pair. It will be my reward for hitting 250. Only 16 lbs to go!

I too am a Nike fan - always have been. I said when I see 'Onederland' (haven't seen her in decades ) I was rewarding myself the those Nikes to link to my ipod.

I have a pair of run/walk (waffle design on sole) nikes now, so that will have to do for now. Heck I barely took them out of box. :o

Thanks for the info. :)

Those should be great! I can't wait to get the hot pink and black pair I have been eyeing for a year lol! Now I may actually be able to find a pair to fit since me feet have shrunk a bit!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
