Weight Loss Before Insurance Approval?

Recommended Posts

When they submit to insurance, what weight do they use? The only time my surgeon has weighed me was at the seminar, well at that time my bmi was 40 and I weighed 248

Well now I have everything done to submit to insurance( which they should do this week...yay!!) and I went to see my pcp today and was at 232.... She then tracked my last 3 appt and I have been steadily losing weight! I am afraid they will not accept it now since I'm only 36 bmi;( unless they use the first one.

At 232 I had a BMI of 48!!! I have been losong weight as well. I should be under 220 at my next (and last) NUT visit. I decided that if I lose more than that I'd load up on Water before my visit. It's crazy that we worry about losing weight. Just call and ask your doc. Don't worry.

My paperwork to insurance was based on my initial consultation weight, and I was approved today. When did you do all your tests? I guess it would be based on your weight at the time your bloodwork and other hoop-jumping was done.

Good luck!
