ISleevedIt 380 Posted September 4, 2012 I just had my 1st individual appointment with my NUT going through Kaiser insurance. I will be finished with all my class requirements in January. She then told me that I still have to go through the approval process then meet with the surgeon so it wouldn't be until Mar/Apr time frame before I get sleeved. Why does it take so long? I thought i read that other people with Kaiser insurance took about 3 months. It just makes me want to fly to Mexico....but I won't since I need to save that money for my kids' college tuition. BKMama 179 Posted September 4, 2012 You know, when I first started the process, my insurance company (BCBS) required a 6 month waiting period. The Center of Excellence that I am having my procedure at has a program that takes at least 4-6 months to complete. I started this process in November and have my surgery tomorrow. In some ways it feels like it's been for-e-ver but in other ways I feel like going through the process taught me so much about myself as well as made sure I am going into this eyes wide open, as prepared as possible which is a clear difference between some people who didn't have to go through that process. I feel like I'm on a soapbox (sorry!) but honestly in hindsight I am very glad I wasn't able to get this done quickly. I needed this time to start getting my head together. :-) 2 Joisey01 and ProudGrammy reacted to this
