nicci1228 6 Posted September 4, 2012 So is it safe to conceive? And what happens with your weight and sleeve after you conceive. I mean does getting pregnant take the purpose out of the sleeve? I dont wanna get pregnant and then deal with being fat again ya know?
Jenn31MA 149 Posted September 4, 2012 I was in the same position as you and decided on the sleeve. My surgeon says that alot his previous lapband patients are revising to the sleeve. If you want to check out the forum on here for band to sleeve patients to get an idea of why they switched. Also the puking/stuck episodes with the band was the deciding factor for me with the sleeve. Ill have no foreign object in me or any rearranged intestines...just a smaller tummy. Its ultimatly up to you though! 1 mrscastillo reacted to this

I dont wanna get pregnant and then deal with being fat again ya know? Definately safe to get preggo BUT you have to wait 12 months (my doctor told me 6 months and others are told 18months, but the average is about 12 months) Pregnancy is different for everyone. I know someone who had the bypass and was pregnant 2months pregnant afterwards..... The baby got all of the necessary nutrients and my friend was still losing weight.... But someone else I know did gain weight.....like 10lbs but in the grand scheme of things, I think that's okay There's a section on here for pregnancies.... You should check it out.... It's on the main page, just scroll down a little good luck in YOUR decision.... We're here for you either way

CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted September 13, 2012 Search for posts by tiffikins. She is a band to sleeve revision AND she has had I believe 2 kids post op. I don't see her post here too much anymore, but she has been a great inspiration to many and is a few years out and maintaining good success with the sleeve.
