Just wanted to give everyone an update. I am 35 years old two kids: 3 and 1. I am 5'7. Surgery was July 31st. My starting weight was 306 and after two week liquid diet, I was 289 day of surgery. Today I start my sixth week (exactly 5 weeks post op) and I was 258 this AM. Just got out of a 5 days stall but prior to that I generally watched the scales move about a pound per day. Gee, sure would be nice if that continued...ohhhh, for about the next 130 days ;), but I'll take what I can get. This weekend was actually my first experience with real food and all I can say is...I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!!!!! I have had ZERO problems at all thus far. I have not had a problem with anything yet I just can't eat much...thank God! The thing is, I crave good foods and honestly, fried or greasy foods just no longer appeal to me. I already have tons more energy, look better, feel better, get TONS of compliments and I can say this was the BEST thing I have ever done for myself. For those who have struggled with their weight and are looking for something to help them refocus their eating habits...do it do it do it! I know not everyone has such a simple experience but for me...no problems at all!!! Geez...two c-sections were worse than the sleeve surgery, even on the worst days. Pics to come soon. Good luck to all of you waiting for surgery and those new in the journey as I am. Not a SINGLE SOLITARY regret!!!!!

I am right there with you!! My surgery was April 16th and I can honestly say it was the absolute BEST decision I have ever made!!! and best money I have ever spent!!!

No issues here either with the surgery..matter of fact I never felt like I even had surgery!! LOL Like you, I can eat pretty much anything as well but just small portions so I don't feel like I am depriving myself of my favorite foods!! It's the best feeling!!!

Down 86lbs and I feel amazing!!!! LOVE MY SLEEVE!!! WOHOO!!!

Thank you for this post. I share very similar stats, and logged on today to find post to convince me to continue the process. My biggest fear is the actual surgery. I have a 3 and 1 year old and couldn't imagine something happening, that is the only thing holding me back. You have put me at ease. Thank you, thank you

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
