If you do a search you will find lots of different topics on bread.

But to answer, not until 4 months out at least. It makes me extremely full and actually makes me kind of sick. It expands a ton in your stomach so I would definitely stay away until you are very far along and healed. Most don't even touch it until they are maintaining.

I don't eat many sandwich type foods anymore. I eat just about everything in the form of a wrap by using leafy green veggies like romaine lettuce or on occasion a whole wheat tortilla. If you do eat bread, try to keep it whole wheat but any bread eats up daily allowance for carbs and it feels your stomach up fast.

If you're a huge bread fan, that is what helped put you in this situation to begin with. Avoid bread like the plague. I can't believe you asked this.

Perhaps you're right and I overreacted.

If you read her question correctly, she's asking about healthy substitutes.

i was serious about the tortilla.. it won't expand in your stomach & you can get low carb, whole wheat ones.

the other person who recommended whole wheat is right..

if you want "healthy" then you could try sprouted breads or ezekiel bread.< /p>

here's a recipe on making sprouted grain bread:

http://www.motherear...uted-grain.aspx

you could also make flax crackers & instead of chips, make "kale chips"... you'd need a dehydrator, though... but they're healthier. :)

Tortilla, wraps, and wonton wrappers. I am 11 weeks out and I have had bread and it doesn't make me sick. I just make other choices since I get full really quick. I can't eat all of my Protein if I have it. I would only eat a little and see how you feel.

Some one had a recipe for I think cloud bread made with cottage cheese people who have made.it said out was good tasted like bread made with egg whites hopefully someone will post it. And on another note once again someone asked a question and was jumped all over I do not think anyone wants to gain back their weight but we do need to continue on with our normal lives. This board is getting old with so many negative, judgmental people

I agree with peacequeen re: My carbo-phobic mum likes iceberg lettuce, she uses them as little scoops for chow mein or antipasto etc..I'm a proteiny person normally although I've recently started experimenting with carbs, they make up about 40% of my intake at the moment and I found my favourite crunchy bread-stitute is ryvita whole grain crisp breads. Of course they'd be for later on, I just thought of them... Ummm other than that try the recipe section I suppose...

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
