Hello,

I am very new to this chat stuff and I am not sure that I am doing it right or where to find it if anyone replies.

I had my surgery on Nov 7th. Started at 208 and am at 186.

My first fill was a month ago and they gave me 2cc.

I can't hardly eat anything and not get sick. I might have one good day a week when I can eat chili or Soup but other than that I throw up anything I eat.

I am starving!

Any advice?

Heritage jenny, you need an unfill. Pronto. Call your doctor and make an appointment.

I totally agree with that. It seems like a lot for a first fill. But if they did it under flouro, it may just be a problem with chewing well.

I have a major problem with chewing well enough. I have to REALLY work on that!

Good luck to you heritagejenny!!!!!

Hey guys -

I am feeling pretty discouraged. I just had a fill less than 2 weeks ago and the scale hasn't moved in a week.

How are all of you losing? Steady?? How much a week???

My Doc is happy with 1 1/2 lbs a week. He say's on average this is normal.

So I will find out tommarow if that's what I am loseing. I no it's a slow procedure, but,, hang in there. Shirley..

I'm losing pretty slowly too...about 1 to 1 1/2 pounds/week on average. My doctor is happy with that as well, but I would like to see more of a change. Lately I keep losing and gaining the same 3 pounds and it's frustrating! I had a fill last Thursday and I haven't really seen a big loss yet. I think I need to be a little bit better about tracking what I'm eating.

Threebeauties,

Listen girl, it's tough not to get discouraged sometimes. Lord knows I do. But go back and re-read some of your posts! Including the ones you've directed to me! You'll make it darlin'. Just heed your own advice, and that given by all of us that really do care (and we do!). Great Balls of Fire girl! Get up in the morning with a renewed attitude and believe that nothing is going to stop you from meeting your goals. And remember, Shirley is right. 1 to 1 1/2 pounds a week is normal, but don't get discouraged if you don't see it every week. Just stay focused young lady! Old Jimboss is telling you to. We all love ya and are here for you.

~~Jimboss~~

I try to eat between 1000-1200 calories, but sometimes I'm way under and sometimes I eat about 1500. I have been using www.sparkpeople.com to keep track of my calories and exercise, but I've just fallen behind. I don't really want to go below 1000 calories and my doc recommends staying around 1200. I have been excercising quite a bit lately too, so I guess I can eat a little more. I'm taking my measurements tonight so hopefully that will make me feel a bit better.

Well were all tryin, hell, even in these winter blues. It's eanough to drag any one down... But just remember Spring is just around the corner. I'll tell you what! Just that thought alone is eanough for me to help "a little" to get over these Michigan Winter Blahs. I got a house up north and I can't waite to get to it. By the time my knee heels, I should be travling up.

Were a great bunch. So hang in there. Shirley...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
