YEAH Chrispy and Losing, you both look great!! I am so glad you posted pics. As soon as I can figure it out, I will too. I think sometimes we get discouraged but........pics don't lie!!!

Can you believe how much better we will look and FEEL this summer. I am one of those people who are really affected by the heat. I sweat a lot and seem to be much hotter than those around me. I hope taking some of this weight off helps with that.

I went shopping at Target yesterday just to pick up a couple of shirts. For the first time in a long time I bought something NOT IN THE PLUS SIZE DEPT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a long way to go but that felt really good to me.

Keep up the great work and thank you all for keeping me inspired.

btw - Muscle Milk LIght is delicious. I got Cookies n Cream, yummy! Hope it helps with the hair!

Well I'm still at 189.8! So I'm down 8.8 for the challenge. I started my period today (sorry Jim) so I'm probably going to fluctuate this week a bit with Water gain. And I'm going to Pittsburgh for the long weekend...and I'll probably drink too much there. Don't judge me, I'll be on vacation. :) Long story short, I'm glad I'm still in the 180s today.

I think St. Pat's might be too soon for a challenge since it's just over a month away...maybe Easter. I think it's on April 8. I think that's like 7 weeks or so. What does everyone think?

Jessica, I like the short term goals! They seem easier for me. How about we do 5 lbs before st. Pats day????????

Congrats on getting under your mark! I am 12 from mine.

Shirley,Glad to hear your doing good. I will need a knee soon too! I am waiting till I can't walk. LOL

I am 12 lbs from hitting my 1st goal and then I will be on the move, I just feel it. Plus I get a fill on the 28th of Feb. YEAH!

Wow! Chrispy and Losingjusme you both look awesome!! And Losing you look so much happier. It's really amazing all of the changes we are going through...not just physical! I guess I should work on getting my pics up. Everyone is doing so well! Thanks to everyone for all the support, it really helps get me through the day sometimes. :)

Sounds like the consensus is for an Easter challenge for 10 pounds. But Mary, we can sure try to lose 5 by St. Pat's too. Congrats on being so close to your first goal!

I need to order some of this muscle milk everyone is raving about. I'm going in for a fill today so I hope that helps a bit too.

Hi There White06!

Thanks for posting the pics! you guys look wonderful!

So last yesterday the furnace decided that blowing hot air in feb in chicago was completley unneccessary. AAAHHH. Of course the warranty on our new furnace contraption expired when we've been here a year - 3 months ago. grrr. so i have been baking all evening - i'm putting together a bake sale for our Avon Walk team at work. This is the first time i haven't eaten half of what i've made! but then i haven't started on the choco-chip Cookies yet either. i've brushed my teeth so i wouldn't tempted... hmmm will that work? :omg:

guess i should make some cocoa cones and see how many i can done before i'm too tired to realize i'm cold.

Nyte my friends!

Hi All

Welcome White06, you're right, we are a good bunch. We tell it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly;)

I guess I didn't make the Vday challenge. Oh well, 10lbs down is great, I think. 10 more for Easter sounds like a plan!

Generally, this is the time of the year where I've fallen off the diet wagon, the resolution to lose weight is out the window and I don't think about losing again until the weather gets warm and the layers come off. Of course, by then, its too late so I get discouraged and vow NEXT SUMMER WILL BE DIFFERENT!! I've played that game with myself for 10 years now.

NOT ANYMORE:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: This really is the year for all of us. Yeah us!!!!!!!

Hello white06! Wecome,

Jesscia I am in for the Easter Challenge too I want to do both! I did have a good day yesterday then my new puppy started to challenge me and she won! So I was in a bad mood last night and ate to make up for it. Then I was just more mad at the puppy. But when I say come here I don't mean run the other way! LOLOLOL.

Hey I bought some Muscle Milk at the grocerys store, 16ozs for 13.99. There is no shipping there. LOL by all the healthy stuff.

Lose away, Mary

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
