NewBeginnings2018 81 Posted October 4, 2006 Hi everyone, Day two home from the hospital, and it's been a bit rough. The liquid pain medicine they give you tastes AWFUL, but trust me it will be your best friend. It's really the only thing that can get me comfortable. It's weird, I am hungry but don't feel like eating anything because I am naseous. I've had to force down 1 Protein Drink, a little bit of milk, and some Water today. But I'm feeling better this afternoon, and I'm sure I will feel a little bit better every day. I still can't believe I'm banded! lol. I'm looking forward to hearing how the other bansters did this week.
bandedmommy 0 Posted October 4, 2006 Hi everyone! I'm joining in because I'll be banded on October 11th by Dr. Spivak here in Houston. Yippee!!!
kayleesmom 0 Posted October 4, 2006 Hey gang! I'm not quite 10 hrs old. I know I had it done because I'm pretty sore but it is still so hard to believe it's real. :omg: Just wanted to say a quick hello and thank everyone on this board for the continual support you all show to the bandits (old and new). Gonna go try to figure out how to get comfy. I actually seem to do better standing, sitting or walking. I would really love a nap though ,:notagree slept maybe an hour last night and only about an hour this afternoon. I must say, it is quite strange to want this so badly then all of a sudden poof!- you got it!!! Got there at 6am this morning and by 10:15 am, I was on my way back home! I guess it will just take time for it to sink in. I do believe I am rambling...pain meds must be better than they appear. I could just keep on with nothing but my own senseless chatter. Have a great evening and good luck to the rest of you...:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

kilcollins 0 Posted October 4, 2006 ok everyone! I am starting to pack! I am hoping that I am taking all of the right stuff. Getting nervous, but I am ever so ready. We have just made the salsa for the competition so that is out of my way. I am gathering all of the papers I need and now I am just waiting for Friday. I hope I am losing weight, I am not sure if I will lose enough I am very worried about that. I am doing what I am suppose to so I guess we will see when I get there. Don't know what I will do if they send me away! Well, the next time I post will probably be when I get back. best of luck and talk soon. Thank you everyone for all of the great info, and support! NewBeginnings2018 81 Posted October 4, 2006 Congrats kayleesmom! I agree - it is very surreal. I stayed overnight in the hospital and would have loved to have spent a second night. That morphine pump was great! haha. But it's great to be home as well. Best of wishes for a speedy recovery!
AZA 0 Posted October 4, 2006 . What is everyones goal by Jan 1st 2007??????????????? My realistic goal is to lose at least 20 pounds and make it into twoterville. But I'm really hoping to lose a good 30 pounds by then.
Shellybeans 0 Posted October 5, 2006 :clap2: Hello to all. I am two days out and feeling really good right now. The pain is minimal. Never thought I would say this yesterday when the pain seemed to be at it's worst. I think the air inside hurts worse than the actual little incisions. I am having a little trouble getting all my Proteins in, but I think it will get better each day. There is only so much cream of wheat, yogurt and Protein Shakes one can handle. I am gonna try strained cream of mushroom Soup for dinner. Yumm!!! All in all, I am quite happy that I made the decision to have the banding done and am looking forward to a whole new life. Good luck to all those who are about to go on this journey and to those who have just started.

Auntie Aud 0 Posted October 5, 2006 Congrats Shellybeans and Kayleesmom! :cheer2: I'm so glad that all went well for you both. Keep us updated on how you are doing when you feel up to it! Would you recommend staying the night in the hospital rather than going home the day of the procedure? My insurance said they would pay for it if the Dr. recommended it. I'm just wondering if it would make any difference?
NewBeginnings2018 81 Posted October 5, 2006 Personally I would recommend staying the night. It was all I could do to keep myself awake that first night, and I think the pain can be managed better in the hospital. Besides the fact that I had a cathedar, and then had to go for flurospcopy the next morning to make sure everything looked ok. It wasn't until after this went ok that I was allowed to start drinking Water. I was so comfortable in the hospital, I would have stayed another night if I could have. Funny, huh?!
