Hello everyone, I didn't make it to 15 for the challenge...I got 4lbs away and started taking it for granted so now I am up 2. I am in for the Easter challenge so I hope to bypass the 10 but I will be happy with that.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! I didn't make the challenge either, but I feel great! Hopefully I will make the Easter challenge this time. Congrats to everyone who made the challenge or came close. We are a bunch of losers. :)

I'm going to Pittsburgh for the long weekend so I won't be online too much, but I'll still check in.

Wow Jessica! Seattle, Pittsburgh.............Do you travel for work or do you just like to get around???? Either way, you are the luckiest gal I know (other than my lovely bride of course!).

You know girls, I didn't make the Valentines day challenge either. I tried and I didn't make it. I'm not going to beat myself up over it but failing that challenge, especially after making the Christmas one, has made me even more determined to make the Easter Challenge!

Let's go girls! I love being a part of such a big bunch of losers! I am telling the truth when I say that I am proud of each and everyone of you! And I am proud of myself. Yes, we do have set backs. Yes we do have frustrations. Yes we do get a kick in the face from a loved one every now and then. And Yes we don't always meet our goals. But you know what the biggest YES is? YES WE HAVE EACH OTHER TO GO TO WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH. I love all of my Bandster Angels and from the bottom of my old heart, I say "Thank You All so very much".

Happy Valentines Day again Angels......................Jimboss

Unfortunately I don't usually get to travel for work, but I do get to go to Orlando in March for a conference. Being a social worker has no perks. I went to Seattle to visit my old roommate and my best friend from grad school lives in Pittsburgh now (we went to the University of Chicago together). I can't wait to get out of town...but it's going to be cold AND snowy there.

Shirely I bet you'll be in onderland in no time!

Good Morning Girls! I did something last night that I haven't done in years. I shaved off my whiskers. All I could do afterwards was stare at myself in the mirror. What a difference! Not that I am a pretty boy or anything like that......but Whew! What a difference!

And then.........My lovely bride and I went to bed. She snuggled up to me and said "This is kind of like going to bed with a different man!".

And then...have you ever said anything before thinking and you wish you could reach out and grab the words before they hit someone's ears? Well that happened to me. I replied with "And just think...If you would shave it would be like me going to bed with a different woman!".

I gotta tell ya girls, that was the wrong thing to say. Talk about ruining the moment! You see, several years ago my lovely bride had a hysterectomy and has suffered with some facial Hair growth. She keeps it under control and if you would ever meet her, you'd never know.

But she is very conciencious about it. And dumb assed old me....ruined what could have been a lovely evening!

It wasn't funny at the moment but now that I think about it...I kind of chuckle.

Y'all have a great day and make your bands work for you!

Love ya all................Jimboss

Jimboss, that is too funny. Had you been quick on your toes, you would have told her that you meant the downstairs, not her face....lol

Jimboss thanks for the laugh, never a dull moment with you around. So I have a question for everyone, how do you get yourself motivated to exercise, I know that I should just do it but my lovely little brain always seems to talk me out of it. I know that I would see better results and feel better if I would exercise but that isn't making me get up and move. Also what exercises do you do? Thanks for all of your support, it makes things easier to know that you have others going through what you are and know what's going on.

I didn't make the challenge eiterh but damn I tried. I am happy with my progress as you all should be too.

Shirley - were you a cheerleader in another life (or this one for that matter, great cheer)

Jimboss - you are killing me!! I can sympathize with your wife, my hubby is a great guy but sometimes the mouth works quicker than the brain. I remember back when we were dating he told me I was perfect for him beccause......get this.............."I don't like beautiful women". Hows that for a big DOH!!! After he explained to me that he meant he doesn't like women who are always "all dolled up", high maintenance women.

Anyway, talking about shoveling being easier. The past couple of days I have been sledding with my kids, not just out there watching them but actually sledding too. That is something I have NEVER done before. It was so awesome and they were so happy:scared:

Ok, 10 for Easter sounds good to me. When is Easter anyway???

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
