Sonia I'm sore too! I can't imagine how you're doing without pain meds...I'm still taking liquid lortab every 4 hours. I'm glad you made it home safely. I'll post more when I feel a bit better.

I'm so glad you checked in Jessica! I've been thinking about you wondering how it all went.

Hope the pain isn't too bad for you!

hi everyone

well CVS finally got my liquid meds and my brother dropped it off around 330. i still feel kinda wiped out. The left side of my stomach area is still sore so i haven't done or eaten much. I dont know if i'm getting all my Water but i would say i've gotten at least 32 ounces. its just hard. i havent ventureed outside to walk, i'm just doing laps around the living room a few times every few hours.

I have a little gas pain but i have realized that spending my life with a pass-gas-in-public-phobia that I'm having a really hard time. I feel like i swallow right as I'm going to burp so it doesnt come out. I'm trying to tell my body its ok - be free! but it doesn't seem to believe me.

i hope i start feeling more like me tomorrow.

hi!

Dang. When I was in the hospital, they gave me some really great creamy Tomato Soup and a vanilla pudding. I just assumed I could eat milk/creamed Soups, pudding etc. I was banded on Monday. Should I not be doing that? M

I think it depends on what your Dr says. I seem to be seeing all sorts of different patterns to the pre-op diet...the post-op diet and the continuing weeks since we are all from different areas and have different Dr's.

I was told that the reason we stay on Clear Liquids AFTER the surgery is to continue with the "tinkle" and not the "other" since that would just be no fun with the condition our tummy areas are in. This gives us 3 more days to heal before we need to do the "other". So, clear liquids I will stay on, until the three days are up. Even if I AM dying for some creamed Soup or anything but things I can see through. ;)

I have slept so much off and on through out the day yesterday that I knew I would be on my computer in the wee hours of the morning.....but I feel really good. That is quite a black and blue area you get in the port area though...wow. I actually can sleep on my left side a bit so things must be healing right up.

Take care all..and "good luck" to those going in and "Halleluia it is over" to those on the mend. Yee-haw!

Mauimarion - I was on full liquids by the time I left the hospital, which included cream Soups and pudding. Just no chunks. All the doctors seem to recommend different things, so I would check with him.

Out of curiosity, for those of you on the birth control pill, how long did your doctor make you get off for?

Hi folks I'm back and Banded!

Dare I say I had a great time, I know that may sound bizarre. Especially going to a foreign country where they speak a completely different language. I could not praise the service I received enough it was FANTASTIC. Plus the fellow bandees that I met having the op on the same day really helped. It was almost like a holiday.

I am now 5 days after surgery still dealing with a little pain but that is to be expected, I'm still healing after all. The day after was exhausting but we were all well looked after by the nursing staff, which I'm sure helped our recovery.

I have already lost just under a stone and a half......can you believe it. I know I am not expecting to keep on like that but it is just nice to know that I finally have something where I actually do lose weight!

So anyone in the UK who is considering weightloss surgery with Elyzea GO FOR IT. They are stupidly cheap for the service you do receive and all the surgeons and anaethetists are absolutely gorgeous!!! Something to do with being Belgium maybe he he. ;)

Well I am a little bushwhacked so I shall write more later, glad to be back home.

Kind Regards

Suzanne

If anyone is interested in seeing a video of the actual Lapband placement, go to this link. It is so interesting. Helped me understand why I am sore in some places more than others and why it is so important no to eat anything now that could cause it to slip.

Ouch Ouch Ouch

Really all i can muster to say =)

Moms local CVS didnt have the bottle of prescription but would have it tomorrow. Corse didn't occur to me to get some liquid tylenol.

I know it's gross but my doc's been having me crush my pills (percocet or vicodin) and putting it in a tablespoon of Water and drinking it. I found it's much better in Propel! Is this something you'd be able to do?

And a few tips for the newer bandsters... drink, drink, drink your fluids. Also, stool softener was HIGHLY recommended by my dr's office.

About the birth control pill, they told me I could take it two days after surgery as long as I made it into powder and will I haven’t done that I forgot to get the refill before I went to the hospital so now I have to wait, until that time in my life comes again. :faint:

Ummm I’m not sure about this. So many different dr.’s I guess it just depends on the dr. my dr. had a book made. Has all the questions that someone may ask. It tells me anywhere from how you should make your meal to when its okay to have intercourse.:omg: :clap2:

Hi, At the hospital I started at 313 and post-op was 307. I have not been back to the doc and my scale does not match the doctor's at all (it registers much less. I will be going next week to the doctors so should get an accurate reading but it seems like I have only lost about 4 pounds and I was banded on the 17th. Is this unusual or ok? I have to say the hardest part of this whole thing was learned how to do the tickers!

ruler-10002.png I still do not know how to do it. I go to the page and click on the little ball to the left of the one that I want and that is all that happens, it gets filled in. I do not see any codes or anything, so I just copy it and paste it. Help please.

Want your opinion. please help. Im frustrated. What would you say if I told you that since being in my second week (when my appititite came back) I have been very VERY strict about my calorie intake and have been doing as much excercise as this stage of being banded would allow. At the very LEAST I have been briskly walking fo 40 minutes on my treadmill and taking my dog for a 30min. walk everyday and back to work where I am mildly active. Not sitting all day. Have stuck to 800 calories per day. Not a calorie more. Heres my question. WHY AM I NOT LOSING WEIGHT!!!!????? Ive been the same weight for 8 days. Whats up?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
