robynluevano 85 Posted September 4, 2012 Can I wear lotion? I'd prefer to shave my legs in the morning, but I have to wear lotion after shaving! Anyone know? What about deodorant? I haven't had a surgery where I had to stay, and I forgot to ask the nurse!!
evelynvsg 136 Posted September 4, 2012 No lotions/no makeup...
ljperez 87 Posted September 4, 2012 I was told nothing. They gave me a soap I have to shower with the night before and the morning of. Also no deodorant. It's going to be tough without my wrinkle cream. I asked your not touching my face? The Dr said nothing.
robynluevano 85 Posted September 4, 2012 Thanks!! I am already dying here without my lotion! I knew no makeup, but wasn't sure about lotions. :-(
Angelmom 30 Posted September 4, 2012 I would use soap to shave the legs, not lotion. The reason is that if you put lotion on your legs...feet, etc...and they need to put sticky pads on your skin to measure heart beat, or other things...or get an iv in your leg, it will make it a little tougher to accomplish, as they would have to scrub the lotion off. I wouldn't want to risk losing precious time for that during surgery. I would avoid lotions altogether...you can lotion up afterward. Deoderant was not something I'm restricted from...face lotion was not something they said was not to be used, either.
