Blood Pressure Drop Concerns

Recommended Posts

Guys my sleeve op is scheduled next saturday the 8th of Sept.

Thing is I'm moving away from home where i'll be living alone and this is causing family members into trying to talk me out of doing the op now and waiting 'till i'm back home .. their biggest concern is no one would be there in case you go through a blood pressure drop and pass out (God forbids) ... I tried telling them that i'll still be on prescribed meds that would help restrict such an event .. but still its a concern ..

Thing is if i went through it i'll be staying home from the 10th till the 21st .. so thats 11 days i'll be home with people around me afterwards i'll be sent abroad for 8 months due to work.

What do you guys think? Need your advice ASAP

Thanks

Well I think you should purchase a blood pressure monitor or go by a drugstore to keep it checked regularly.

I never had any blood pressure issues at all ..

but the concern is will going through such a procedure that limits food and body's normal consumption to operate as it should .. is there a reason to fear being alone or living by ones self?

I can take care of myself but are there chances of going into comma or other worries i would absolutely need someone beside me at times?

Because you're asking about the food restriction I'm assuming you mean are the chances of going into a coma, having a sudden drop in blood pressure, etc.elevated for the rest of your life and the answer is--No. The surgery should make you healthier.

Are you going to be somewhere that you can get medical help if needed? A doctor, clinic, or hospital? If you begin to have complications, you'll need medical help, your family would just be there for support.
