Avillias 25 Posted September 3, 2012 Can anybody tell me what kinds of Soups you were eating 11 days out and I start mushy stage in 4 days any suggestions what I can eat?
1footinfrontoftheother 7 Posted September 3, 2012 My lifeline during this stage, because I needed flavor so bad, was cooking red Beans (pinto beans) in the crock pot and straining the juice!!
1footinfrontoftheother 7 Posted September 3, 2012 Also, I'm not to the soft foods yet, but my Dr suggest: unsweetened apple sauce, sugar free puddings, mashed sweet potatoes, puréed fruits and vegetables, low fat, low sugar yogurt such as Dannon light n fit or Greek yogurt, hoot cooked cereals such as oatmeal, grits, malt-o-meal, mashed Beans, non or low fat cottage cheese Hope that helps some 1 sarahmoni reacted to this
Avillias 25 Posted September 3, 2012 Thanks I think I'll try doing that with red Beans. I'm really needing flavor as well
doxieville 799 Posted September 3, 2012 Get a submersible blender. I got one at costco last week for $28. It's great! Anything that is chunky liquid you can puree and it becomes a full liquid. The texture in your mouth is different, but your brain registers all the familiar tastes. I'm breezing thru the puree stage thanks to my mighty blender. :-) 1 sarahmoni reacted to this
sassypants 674 Posted September 3, 2012 I made my own turkey and veg, chicken and veg, ham and chicken and veg. Pretty much anything I wanted I would make! You can blend them up to the thickness you want and go from there.
Avillias 25 Posted September 4, 2012 Thanks this helps out a lot, I should have made me some Soups before surgery and froze some but I guess it's not to late.
Robyn Owens-Miille 132 Posted September 4, 2012 I made pumpkin and turkey sausage Soup and pureed it smooth. It was wonderful. I also made a "taco" Soup and did the same with it. I needed spice and flavor at that stage.
