I get sorta the same feeling. I see people on here going and doing... and I'm like HOW? I thought that i was pretty tough. Went to a movie with my husband two days ago and then to watch him eat sushi (i had some soup). Then i passed out tired in the truck on the way home. I cooked supper last night and was give out. I made sure to get all of my Protein yesterday.. hopefully that will help. Still struggling with liquids. I get about 40 oz. The only thing my sleeve doesn't like is cold stuff so i have to drink everything at room temperature... yuck. I am so ready to feel normal!

I was one of those people who was going and doing by day 5. Timing was such that I had no choice. However, if it makes you feel any better, it would wipe me out. I needed a nap daily. Some days I would come home from runnning around and just sleep and sleep. Give yourself permission to rest. Don't expect too much from yourself. They say it takes about a full month to six weeks to fully recover. Even when I was to the point of feeling great most of the time, I would still have days where I would be suddenly sore and really fatigued. I find that if I have not gotten enough liquid or protein, I still get dizzy at three months out. If that lightheaded feeling comes, I know it's time to take stock, listen to my body and figure out what I have not gotten enough of.

Hang in there, it will get easier. I had open heart surgery and spent the next 4 months in a recliner. For some reason every time I laid down it felt like I was chocking because of the pressure. But it did pass after my chest muscles healed. You to will heal and it will get better. I know you still hurt but look on the bright side. No changing or washing bed sheets for a while. :)

I haven't had any Tylenol since 6am and no Vicodin since yesterday afternoon and my lightheadedness and dizziness has disappeared. Really hoping that is was what causing it! and I'm not in that much pain or discomfort today :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
