Tryan 20 Posted September 2, 2012 I was 8/9/12. I don't really have a support group either other than my family. I'd like to find someone with a surgery date close to mine along with someone that weighed near what I weighed.

Lucabelle1313 36 Posted September 2, 2012 Tryan, what was/is your weight?
Tryan 20 Posted September 3, 2012 I feel great other than right now. I think I picked up a cold. I have a sore throat, my chest is heavy and I'm coughing up green stuff and that worries me because my surgery was so recent. Anyway, I eat about 2-4 oz 3x a day with 2 Snacks inbetween, no Snacks over 100 calories. I'm having difficulty getting all my Water in. I average about 50oz a day and I was told that I need 64oz per day. I eat pretty much anything I want except for bread, rice, Pasta and corn. Everything I drink is artifically sweetend if it's not plain Water. I haven't started raw fruits or veggies. I'm still in the soft food stage. Everything I have tried I have tolerated very well. Initially I was sore. Now I have one small area that is slightly tender. I returned to work 10 days after surgery. I started the gym 2 weeks after surgery. All I do is walk on the treadmill at about 2.0 to 3.0 MPH. I have not had any bouts with nausea or vomiting. I feel very fortunate. I've lost 22lbs and I hope it keeps coming off. Lucabelle1313 36 Posted September 3, 2012 Sounds like you are doing great!!! What do you eat for soft foods?? Are you still drinking Protein? Sorry feel like 50 questions but, I am having a rough time with food. Feel uncertain all the time about it.
Tryan 20 Posted September 3, 2012 I do an EAS Protein Shake its a 100 calories but it only has 17 grams of Protein. I eat hamburger refried Beans canned veggies, tuna, cottage cheese, string cheese, yogurt, chicken, lunch meat, eggs and crab. any Soup but since I introduced soft foods I want things that I can chew. I eat between 2 and 4oz depending on what I eat. I can only do about 2 or 3 oz of tuna or refried beans at a sitting but I can complete 4 oz of hamburger meat at a time. I also found a really good recipe for Pizza Crust thats made out of cauliflower, cheese and egg but I use it as a bread to make a sandwichs also.
Lucabelle1313 36 Posted September 3, 2012 Wow!! You are doing sooo good!! Can I get that recipe???
Tryan 20 Posted September 3, 2012 Ingredients: 1 cup cooked, riced cauliflower 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese* 1 egg, beaten 1 tsp dried oregano 1/2 tsp crushed garlic 1/2 tsp garlic salt Olive oil (optional) pizza sauce Mozzarella cheese, shredded Other additional toppings of your choice *Many people have commented and said that the amount of cheese can be reduced by half, and still taste just as good! Directions: To rice your cauliflower, take 1 large head of cauliflower, remove the stems and leaves, and chop the florets into chunks. Add to a food processor and pulse just until it looks like rice. Alternatively, you can grate the cauliflower with a cheese grater. Place the riced cauliflower in a microwave safe bowl, add 1/4 cup Water, and microwave for 6-8 minutes, stirring half-way through. To make the pizza, preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Spray a pizza pan or cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, combine the cauliflower, mozzarella cheese and egg together and stir until well incorporated. Add the oregano, garlic, and garlic salt. Transfer to the cookie sheet, and shape into a 9-inch circle. Brush the crust with olive oil to help it brown in the oven. Baked at 450 degrees F for 15 minutes, until the crust is browned and cooked through the middle. Remove the crust from the oven, add your sauce and toppings. Place under a broiler at high heat until the cheese is melted and bubbly. (About 3-4 minutes). I only use 3/4 of a cup skim mozzarella cheese and it was really good. Also make sure you get all the moisture out of the cauliflower after you cook it. You can blot it with a paper towel
