I'd like to hear back from OP...

I hate feeling full! HATE it! Personally I think that your desire to feel full, rather than "not hungry" or disinterested in food may be a psychological issue... Do you? Have a big think about why you got surgery and butterthebean/other posters have provided some good advice about why physically you may not be full...

Oh and anyone care to talk in grams! Can't picture 4-8 oz :(

Hey it's funny but just checked out another thread that says acid reflux can cause hunger feelings... Try a medicine for this?

I think alot of us are in the states and don't regularly use grams. It would be difficult to talk in grams, just as ounces are a mystery to you. I find this online conversion tool EXTREMELY helpful ;)http://www.onlineconversion.com/weight_volume_cooking.htm

Seems a bit strange to me that you didn't feel full sooner. I am 5 1/2 weeks out, last night I went to a wedding and ate 2 cocktail size meatballs, a carrot, 3 green Beans and 2 chucks of watermelon over a 30 minute period of time. I was full, in fact I had to get up and walk around because I felt uncomfortably full. I know everyone's different, but I can barely eat more than a few ounces of anything. Maybe try to eat slower and chewing your food thoroughly, you might find yourself feeling full before you can ingest a full 8oz. Give it time, for me it wasn't a mistake. I've lost 30 lbs. since surgery, I feel better (BP is 106/68), look better and have gotten tons of compliments on how great I look. Definitely not a mistake for me! Hope things improve for you.

4 oz is roughly 120 grams and 8 oz is roughly 240grams... I am a nurse and I have lived in the UK and Australia so metrics were a must lol

Yeah sorry about the oz/gram thing I was just soooo anti-googling right then! Yeah in aus 3 oz is about the size of our regular one-serve tunas tins and it's the amount I eat in one sitting pre-sleeve. Although to be fair if you sat like 20 oz of tuna in front of me I could polish it off but would feel very fishy :~o

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
