What did you eat? How long did you take to eat it? All that factors into the equation.

Hmm weird that you wouldn't feel full. The Softer foods do tend to fill you up less easy though.

As I'm sure you've read here a million times; the sleeve is a tool. We need to learn to use that tool properly. I really think they should send us to classes before we get sleeved to help us learn how to eat properly and healthier once we get the surgery. Not just recommend certain foods and tell us "this is good, this is bad, now go get em Tiger!"

I know myself when I ate prior to the sleeve I would eat and eat until I was stuffed full. I don't want to do that now. I just want to eat enough to be healthy and lose weight. The thought of being full never even crosses my mind any longer. There has been a rare occasion when I ate a little too much post sleeve and I got that I'm full and I probably over did it feeling and I didn't like it one bit.

If I could offer some advice it would be to go pick up a food scale somewhere and start measuring out your food. An ounce or two of Protein, another ounce or two of veggies, maybe an ounce of potatoes, stick with a 4-6 ounce meal. Learn to consume the food to live, Don't live to consume the food.

You had an 8oz can of tuna?

tuna is usually a 6 oz. can. Squeeze out the Water and you have 3 oz., which is just about right.

I mixed a 4 oz can of tuna with a boiled egg and low fat mayo and it was quite filling. Are you sure it was an 8 oz can of tuna? Also, getting in all your Water will mean you always have something in your stomach, even waiting 30 minutes to eat.

WOW!! You ate 8oz's of tuna...the whole thing :o. Straight? As a salad?

I do not believe being Sleeved is a wait of time but I think you should give yourself time.

I agree with Nate maybe a scale is what is needed here. Weigh each item, eat slowly and CHEW, CHEW, CHEW before swallowing. That may help you feel fuller... longer.

Give it time. You could be rushing results way too soon.

Drink Water before your meals

I was told NOT to drink anything at least 15 - 30 minuets before AND after meals.

We have to get in Protein and if we are full on liquid that would make it impossible to do. I don't think drinking liquids is the answer.

I agree tuna is not normally 8 oz. I believe minus the Water it is more like 4 as I have actually weighed a half a can of tuna. Eat slow put your fork down between each small bite. I have learned this with the band. It will become such a habit one you do it enough. You will then realize how fast others devour their food, its crazy.

I don't feel hungry or full like I did before surgery. I'm 5 weeks out and on soft foods. I try to eat slowly, and slow down even more when I feel like I've had enough. I don't feel "full" per se, but I begin to feel my stomach. I know about how much I can eat, and only put that on my plate/bowl. Depending on the food, it's about 1/3-1/2 cup of food.

I was told the exact opposite from Weight wise bariatic center & my Surgeon . I was told to drink drink drink up until the first bite and then do not drink for another hour after my meal. If ur choice of food for a meal is first 2/3 Protein and then if you still have room do a bote of vegetable there shouldn't be a problem. That's what I learned in my Post op Dietician class

By the way liquid moves through your system quicker than you think

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
