bthomas08 39 Posted September 2, 2012 Can you eat watermelon after surgery? I'm 2 weeks post op
Nate 292 Posted September 2, 2012 You can, it's not advised though, because it's very pulpy. And pulpy stuff is hard to digest. Especially 2 weeks out. If you do decide to, just chew it thoroughly and don't eat too much and you should be OK. But don't push things.
iggychic 1,405 Posted September 2, 2012 They fall in my puréed period if they are strained, unsweetened and puréed finely. And probably not laced with vodka lol (which is so yummy). Are you in the puréed stage yet?
bthomas08 39 Posted September 2, 2012 Thanks! He never gave me a purée stage. I can do creamed Soups. But he never mentioned blending anything.

fattymcfatterson 107 Posted September 2, 2012 Pre-op but i will share this. Last night I wanted to try some watermelon lemonade. I juiced the lemon then put it in the blender with the watermelon. I had some cheesecloth so I thought I would strain out any missed seeds or whatever. I had NO IDEA how much "pulpy stuff" would be left on the cheesecloth! It was a mess, I would not use cheesecloth again but a fine strainer thingee. SO if you were going to do it, i would be prepared to strain it. My surgeon just says that if I can eat it with a fork the first 6 weeks then i CAN'T eat it. And the drink was really good so it may be something I keep doing once I have a strainer. Good luck!! iggychic 1,405 Posted September 3, 2012 I think that just means no sugar added.
