Blugirl 42 Posted September 2, 2012 my first time EVER experiencing this..... not painful, just unconfortable. I am not really constipated, though! did anybody experience this? does it go away after a while?! i hope it does!...
Aaron in Tulsa 147 Posted September 2, 2012 I'm pre-op but I have dealt with hemorrhoids. Blech. Best thing is witch hazel. You can buy the pre-moistened Preparation H wipes, or if you're cheap (like me), you can just buy a bottle of witch hazel at the pharmacy and use a paper towel to apply it. Blugirl 42 Posted September 2, 2012 great tip and do they go away? or is it something that will keep happening!? ive been doing some reasearch online but, im still scared it will be a recurrent problem!
Aaron in Tulsa 147 Posted September 2, 2012 Unless they're terrible, they usually go away. All they are is swollen blood vessels, so once the swelling goes down, they're done. The really really big ones sometimes need to be surgically removed. I've never had one of those.
Blugirl 42 Posted September 3, 2012 thank you for your answer! for some reason no matter what I post I never get any comments, or hardly any! No idea why! it feels sad! but oh well...... thank you!
Almostthere34 128 Posted September 3, 2012 I am so sorry. That is kind of a touchy subject. I've never had them but be glad you have not had any issues with Constipation. It took my body a moment to adjust to all the Protein. I try to get Fiber in via veggies or fruit. That is the worst and all those over the counter drugs are disgusting. Blugirl 42 Posted September 3, 2012 Haha.... It really is an unconfortable subject, but I cant really find much info online specifically to wls, so I was wondering if it had happened to someone else..... I think "it" is under control today hahaha...... so I feel great!
Almostthere34 128 Posted September 3, 2012 I am sure it will go away. I am glad it's under control. I am sure someone will chime in.
AliveAgain 283 Posted September 3, 2012 If you use the search function on the forum for "hemorrhoids" (watch spelling), then you'll see answers that may help you. I've had problems w/them off and on due to Constipation which is now under control, but sometimes I over-do it in exercise or long road trips. Unfortunately, once that area gets stretched it can be a long time before simple things don't make them come back.
Blugirl 42 Posted September 3, 2012 thank you for the tip. ( my phone cover doest really help with spelling lol) i'm pretty new to this, so Ill make sure To look up topics before posting.
AliveAgain 283 Posted September 3, 2012 No worries! You just may find more solutions that way since not every user sees each topic. Believe me, I didn't know the correct spelling until I got them and did a LOT of Google searches! My biggest tip: Sitz bath!
