You're swollen? Can you explain?

I would dismiss the pain as muscles getting back some feeling but I'm not sure at all what the swelling would be from. Have you called your surgeon?

It just seems like in the morning I feel good and my tummy is flat but after doing pedicures all day at work I come home and I'm soooo sore and my tummy is swollen and way bigger then it was in the morning. I hv not told my surgeon. I see him in a week and a half:( does this seen normal? :(:(

Doing pedicures is hard work not to mention hard on your body being bent for a substantial amount of time. I would call your doctor and make sure your cleared for your type of work right now.

I hope you figure it out. Keep us updated.

It sounds like your over doing it. I had this difficulty and they told me to wear my abdominal binder and it helped. It will go away in time but try to do some stretches to strengthen you muscles. also, it wouldn't hurt to call your surgeon's office and let them know what's going on. ;)

An abdominal binder is an elastic support that goes around your the area where your incisions are. It really helped me a lot to not feel the extra strain during the day. :) i got one from my surgeon's office. :)

I am a month out tommorrow and I'm going through the same thing. Except I don't have swelling n it's on the right side. I bend over a lot during work too so when I get home im really sore. And I still can't lay on my stomach. I email my doctors office but I'm assuming I have to weight til Tuesday. I hope everything works out for you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
