4 Months Out, I'm Having A Drink!

Recommended Posts

If you want to watch calories and carbs... Flavored vodka and Water. I love the Three olives Loopy. It taste just like fruit loops. Sip slow. Personally, I will be 4 months tomorrow and alcohol burns my stomach. And I was quite the drinker. Beer and soda hurt too much because of the bubbles and air. But hopefully when I do go back my plan is the vodka and water. Also crystal light have those mocktinis, just add liquor!

I'm 2.5 weeks post and dying for a margarita. Meeting the girls tonight...not sure how I'm going to play this one as they do not know I had the surgery. Me not drinking and not eating much may raise brows. I might just order but not eat. Any suggestions?

Even as far our as I am, I still have a tough time with carbonation. I usually have wine or a White Russian made with skim milk.

I've tried a strawberry daiquiri and drank it too fast and got real queasy and buzzed. I'm sure because of the sugar. Then I've tried malibu rum and pineapple juice. Good sipper drink

Lots of calories but I only drink one at a time. By the way I'm 4 months out and tried a drink at 2 months out.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
