You will feel like every meal is a Thanksgiving dinner, promise!! :-) Liquids are "sliders" and once you eat some solid Protein, you'l l be full and will almost have to set a timer to make sure you eat. I am 8 months out and actually get hungry at times. I try my best to eat 5-6 times a day, not much, but quality , nutritional foods. You'll be surprised how full you feel and how satisfied you';ll feel on a half a cheese stick. :-) I still sort of mentally measure my food. My Dr told me to always eat on a bread plate and I'd never gain my weight back, I haven't been able to fill a bread plate yet and I never do. I do strive to get my protein and fluids in every day. There is nothing like the feelings you get when you hear compliments all day, it is sure a motivator.

Yes, liquids move through your stomach faster, so it's easier to get more of them down. For most people, as you move on to foods that are more dense you will start to be able to tell more. Some soft/regular foods are 'sliders' and those you probably won't feel restriction on, but if you're eating the right things (especially protein) you will feel restriction. Some days it seems like my restriction is tighter than others, but I definitely feel it when I make sure I'm eating my Protein first.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
