I don't know this first-hand, but have read (in other posts on here) that the military doesn't allow a waiver for someone post-VSG to join. If you do a search (on here), you should be able to find the post I'm referring to...there was a link to some official DoD information there, I believe.

I can only speak to when I was in the Army back in 98'. If you had any type of surgery you had to have waivers and clearence from both your docs and the military docs at MEPS. Depending on the demand of your MOS and the Military they may be willing to get your waivers in order but again this is the military and it's hurry up and wait:) Miss those days I was in great shape!!

It is an automatic bar to enlistment. I did read the reg, but I cannot find it just now. You can check into waivers, but no matter what your MOS, you are expected to be a grunt soldier always. You never know when a person can find themselves in a combat situation. You need to be able to ingest a lot of calories in a short time and you cannot choose your food.< /p>
