one other thing.. there's this alkalizing Water called Kangen water.. it will help you poop. i haven't seen it mentioned on here before, but i can tell you right now that it works. it alkalizes your body, which make it harder for bad stuff (like cancer) to grow in it.

"Kangen Water is simply an easier way of stating: Alkaline, ionized, electron rich, restructured, micro clustered, active hydrogen saturated, oxidation reduced, powerful water."

http://www.thewatertruth.com/go/ << there's some info on it.

you can find places in your area that sell kangen water & it's very inexpensive. the machines that produce it are VERY expensive, but my family pays around $10/mo for unlimited gallons of kangen water.. as much as you could drink. :) you can cook with it, bathe with it, etc.

drinking it does make you go poop, though.. so anyone having problems with that, i would highly suggest seeking out somewhere that sells kangen water & buying some. the taste is different than regular tap or bottled water.. you can use it to make coffee, tea, or with crystal light or whatever. :) it'll get your bowels to move for sure lol

you put them in liquid of your choice & leave them set for a while.. then drink them down.. they're slimy & grassy tasting, but i actually like them.. lol the slime is gelatinous.. like Jello.. with little tiny seeds- like poppy seeds in the middle... you can put it in a blender to help with the texture.

it's not that bad, honestly.. but my tolerance for weirdness may be higher than yours. won't know til you try it. lol

Thanks to Rootman, I have purchased and started using chia seeds in several different ways. I researched on the internet, looked up some recipes and took the plunge. Fantastic. I am not so bound up and everything has softened up. Also, I do believe my appetite is diminished. Thanks for your testimonial, Root. KI

I have started drinking what my son refers to as my poop potion. It is citracel with Miralax. I have not been constipated since mixing the two together.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
