madisonPA 29 Posted August 30, 2012 Im just shy of 3 mos and I will say my acid reflux is getting better. My dr had me on meds twice a day and I was taking that plus tums. Now I just take one at night before I go to sleep and no more tums. My dr also suggested that I dont sleep flat in the beginning weeks and that helped too. barrbdoll 287 Posted August 30, 2012 I take meds twice a day and also chew on Tumms here and there and I still have heartburn. My surgery was April 16th. It's the ONLY issue I have had since my surgery. I was on Nexium after surgery and it did nothing so I moved to over the counter generic "Rantidine" that I buy at Sams for around $10.00. Works better than the prescription stuff that I have tried. I hope it eventually goes away.... Time will tell!!!
isajck 229 Posted August 31, 2012 When my reflux is bad I will take meds twice a day, morning and evening, close to bed time. Thankfully I have not had to do that in a couple of weeks. My doctor said it should get better as time goes on. Because every patient is different he does not like to give exact time frames.
