Sherry77 166 Posted August 30, 2012 I hear many people benefit from B12 injections. Are these administered by the surgeon who performed the sleeve, PCP, other healthcare professional, or self administered?
UTGal99 327 Posted August 30, 2012 All of the above can administer. My surgeon and/or PCP have advised they will do them monthly or my surgeon will write a script for them to administer on your own. Ask your surgeon's office how they like to proceed.
Sherry77 166 Posted August 30, 2012 When I ask for these injections, what should I say the reason is for needing them? 1 Territravel reacted to this
Territravel 217 Posted August 30, 2012 In the south, you can get them at the Krogers Pharmacy, Walgreens and at some minor medical places for $15.
isajck 229 Posted August 30, 2012 Has anyone tried the B-12 nasal spray, Nascobal yet? I was so not going to do injections and am not handling pills/sublingual well just now so a sample of this was given to me at my surgeon's office today. I cannot wait to try it. http://www.nascobal.com/
Territravel 217 Posted August 30, 2012 When I ask for these injections, what should I say the reason is for needing them? You don't need a reason. I use to get them before surgery, just for the energy boost. I get them monthly now.
pinkbwlr16 20 Posted August 30, 2012 My surgeon put me on the injections 3 times a week because my levels were so low.
soccermomx2 111 Posted August 30, 2012 B12 is a manadatory part of my Vitamin list for life. I choose to do the injections once a month which is easier to remember that another pill.
Piplula 709 Posted August 31, 2012 I hear many people benefit from B12 injections. Are these administered by the surgeon who performed the sleeve' date=' PCP, other healthcare professional, or self administered?[/quote'] I purchase mine at my local pharmacy (Kroger)$15 / month and they administer it. No prescription required. I just told them I had weight loss surgery, and they call me to remind me its time for a dose. I think the next time I goto the doctor, I may ask for a perscription and get a vial of it and have my nurses shoot me up at work...would be cheaper because I wouldn't have to pay for the administration fee .
