"never Eat" And My Clothes Today

Recommended Posts

Never, ever eat Wendy's spicy chicken nuggets post-op. That was a horrendous feeling I had today after attempting to eat them for lunch. Second, I went and donated 11 garbage bags (6big heavy duty) of clothes and shoes that are now huge on me. I am in a 10 from a tight 18. The only thing I kept thinking was that somebody better appreciate my beautiful clothes!!! RIP my fat clothes.

Yay! I plan on donating my clothes too. I am keeping one outfit to remind me of where I was and don't want to go back to. I could not handle spicy food before surgery, I can't imagine now.

I love spicy foods and even more now after surgery, however not being able to drink with meals anymore kinda cuts that out. Lol I steer clear of fried foods like that they are loaded with carbs.

Call me a rebel. I try to stay away from fried foods, but my NUT says that it's not a bad thing in moderation. So for the most part I cook at home and I don't fry. But when I eat out- I eat it sometimes. Fried foods were never my particular vice so it doesn't scare me to eat it. Filler foods like rice, Pasta, and bread were my vices so those I am scared to death of! Last week my sister made rice with my favorite sauce and I ate a lil. It went down fine like most things but now I am scared to eat rice again. Rice and bread still go down easy for me so I have to treat it like the plague to keep losing.

I get Wendy's chili for lunch - there's one right near my office. The other day I was in the mood for nuggets so I ordered them with my chili. They gave me the spicy instead - went down fine, but kind of gross. I only wanted one nugget, and gave the rest to co-workers, but what a waste of a splurge!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
