Have you met with your NUT yet? He or she should tell you what to take.

I also ordered the Celebrate sample pack. I went to their site to figure out what was what!! One thing I did was sort them by type (you have multiple flavors of the same item) and I kept track of the flavors I liked so that I would know what to order.

i did sort them into what was on the package, the NUT gave me a run down on the basics, but not which of this brand i should take.

What did your NUT say? Maybe I can help you figure it out.

A couple childrens chewables and a Calcium supplement is what i need. but this sample pack has all kinds of stuff beyond that...i guess those are optional?

Absolutely!! Some of them are Vitamins specifically for RNY patients, some are extra Iron pills, there are a bunch of different types of Calcium.< /p>

In the end, my NUT wants me on a Multivitamin that contains Iron, additional iron, and calcium. I was able to find the items I needed based on that.

I hope this helps!!!

Lol, after reading tons of posts here I think I finally figured out what NUT meant - nutritionist? maybe Dietician? All this time I thought it meant your surgeon but I couldn't figure out how that came to be nut. Duh.

My doctor surgeon has me taking a sublingual Vitamin B12, a multi-B, a multi chewable Vitamin (I do Centrum), Calcium with D3 (love the chewable lemon Bariatric Advantage ones). I haven't seen the dietician yet but will in two weeks. She may add something more, not sure. They gave me a sheet I took into the pharmacies and scouted what I needed as I am not to do gels or capsules, but chewables or pills and no time-release.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
