My name is Amy. I am 29. 5'9" and currently 271.6lbs. I am going into month 4 of my 6 month pre-op diet and have been making appointments to get all of the required pre-op testing done.

I was athletic in high school, but began emotional eating after various abusive relationships, including the one that ended with the suicide of my sons father. I also have hashimotos and had a total thyroidectomy in 2011...After which I gained 40lbs!!!

I am excited and nervous for my surgery, which has yet to be approved/scheduled. I just want to get back to my life. Happy to be here. And I have many questions, so I'll be around

Glad to have you here. This is a great place to get info and ask questions. Remember what the teachers always said "there is never a dumb question" either someone else is thinking or feeling the same and won't ask or probably more likely someone in here as already been thru it. hang in there and good luck
