Help, Emotional Issues Right Before My Surgery Date!

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody, I can´t believe everything that´s happening to be before the surgery date in a week from today. My boyfriend has been helping me pay for the surgery for months now and I can´t believe we broke up a WEEK before the surgery... I think I am nervous about it that I am extra sensitive, I don´t know but I need someone to tell me that everything´s is going to be AMAZING because I have been waiting for this moment for a LONG time and I can´t believe I am facing this breakup plus surgery without him, he was like a husband to me. Anyways; I should be okay I am just shocked! I am getting my surgery on Sept 4 in México and have everything ready, expect his support....

This is going to be amazing for you! you will recapture the skinny you and be so much happier. Sorry to hear your boyfriend bailed on you. It will work out one way or another. This is a good time to focus on you, changing your eating habits to more healthier eating habits, and healing. :)

Oh man, that stinks, good luck with things. I am only two weeks out, but glad I had the surgery, I am in a stall right now and still happy. I did it for me. I know it will be hard on your own, but focus on yourself for a while. Make yourself happy and healthy.

I don't know why he left, maybe he was affraid. I know some poeple seem to be jelous and upset thinking I will loose weight, that I will no longer be 'the fat one'. They don't come out and say it, but that is what it feels like. Good luck. Make yourself your priority!

You deserve it....DO IT FOR YOU. If it is meant for you to be with your boyfriend it will all work out but now you have to concentrate on you~

Praying for you and sending positive vibes your way

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
